Welcome to the Bay Lake Independent Music Teachers Association.  We hope you enjoy your visit to our website.  Bay Lake Independent Music Teachers Association is a relatively new organization.  The membership includes the former Shawano MTA, which merged with teachers in Green Bay and surrounding areas.

BLIMTA is affiliated with the Wisconsin Music Teachers Association and the Music Teachers National Association , which allows us to take full advantage of the benefits of these organizations.  In addition to annual state and national conventions, these organizations provide support for independent teachers in the form of competitions and workshops, publications such as American Music Teacher, insurance and other business-related tools, a national certification program to insure professionalism in teaching, scholarship and foundation funds to support student and professional development, and local, state, regional, and national competitions in composition, solo, concerto, and chamber music performance.
